At H.B. Fuller when we talk about DIY, you might think we are talking about Fast 2K. But no, this time around, the DIY spirit is taking on a bit of a different look. That look is Grace Ledvina.

Over the years, we have put a lot of research and development into producing a great DIY product – Fast 2K Deck Post Anchor – so we know what it takes to roll up your sleeves and get something built!  Grace has just the right amount of grit and determination to do the same, and we wanted to take a moment to thank her for all her hard work. Read on for some tips to have a little more ‘Grace’ in your life!

How to Harness Grace’s DIY Spirit

Not yet a master, but still a devil for the details: Grace may still be in college, but she has already perfected her ability to take any information that is available and work toward getting the job done. She tackled a great number of projects in a very short three months. She saw our goals and she fearlessly took charge of the details. The key to mastering a skill is that caring about the small parts will always add up to the finished product!

Self-learning: In today’s world, the rapid evolution of technology has us living in a world where you tend to learn things as you go. Grace did a great job of focusing her skill of learning on the fly – to develop an internal sales tool that will help others on our team learn.

Look for the challenges: Grace requested additional challenges to diversify herself, during her time here at H.B. Fuller – that’s just the kind of drive that helps get things done! Grace is not afraid to ask, “how I can make this better, what else can I do to add value – to myself and the business?” When you are looking to grow your “do-it” skills, you happily invite more opportunities.

Don’t forget the ‘doing’: Grace had a chance to get hands-on with the product, and you guessed it – she jumped right in! She was on-hands to help get a second story deck project, literally, off the ground! Check out the video of her Fast 2K’ing like a pro on her first time, while being recorded! (Maybe it really is that easy!)

With those tips in mind, you’re ready to take pride in a job well-done, courtesy of…yourself!

Thank you, Grace, for showing us just what it means to ‘DIY’ and still excel at collaborating within a team! Your work is appreciated, and we wish you well on your next journey; we have no doubt you have all the tools you need to succeed!

Remember, “practice makes perfect”- so, never hesitate to try a new project, learn something new, or put yourself out there. You never know what kind of masterpiece you will end up with, or how you might be secretly building more than just a deck!
